Dennis Quaid blames his and Meg Ryan's broken marriage on their determination to be perfect parents. Quaid feels he and his ex-wife forgot about each other's needs while they were busy planning their careers around son Jack.

He explains, "We tried to be very good parents, so Meg would go off and do a film and she'd come home, and I'd do a film, and that's not exactly conducive to building a close and healthy relationship. There wasn't a lot of togetherness there. In the process of being good parents, I think we forgot about us."
